About the service

What this service does

Moore Family Home Alerts is a private, non-commercial notification system that sends automated SMS messages from a Home Assistant smart home installation to immediate household members. It exists solely to let the household know when something at home needs attention.

Alert types

  • Water leak detection — leaks detected by sensors around the home.
  • Security events — door, window, motion, and alarm activity.
  • Power outages — loss or restoration of grid power.
  • Network failover — primary internet failure and WAN backup activation.
  • System status updates — health checks and diagnostic notifications.

Who receives messages

Only the system owner and immediate household members. This is not a commercial service. It is not offered to the public, has no subscribers, and exists strictly for personal/household use.

Complete the form below to provide consent. The system administrator will then add your number to the alert system manually.

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how Moore Family Home Alerts collects and uses information from individuals who opt in to receive SMS notifications.

Information collected

  • Mobile phone number
  • Relationship to the operator

Purpose of collection

Information is collected solely for the purpose of configuring SMS alerts within a private home automation system. It is not used for any other purpose.

Sharing & disclosure

  • No data is shared, sold, rented, traded, or transferred to any third party.
  • No marketing, promotional, or advertising communications are sent.
  • SMS messages are delivered via Twilio’s messaging platform; Twilio acts only as the message transport provider.

Data retention

Information is retained only as long as the recipient remains opted in to the service. When a recipient opts out, their information is removed from the active alert configuration.

Data deletion requests

Recipients may request that their information be deleted at any time by emailing brad@mooreontheweb.com.

Service description

Moore Family Home Alerts delivers automated home monitoring SMS notifications generated by a private Home Assistant installation. Alerts cover events such as water leaks, security activity, power outages, network failover, and system status.

Message frequency

Message frequency is approximately 200 messages per month or fewer and varies based on home events. Frequency may be higher during incidents such as severe weather or extended outages.

Costs

Message and data rates may apply. Charges are set by your mobile carrier and are the responsibility of the recipient.

Opt-out

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further alerts will be sent to your number.

This service is provided strictly for personal and household use. It is not a commercial service and is not available for public enrollment.

No warranty

The service is provided on an “as-is” basis. No warranty is made regarding the delivery, timing, accuracy, or availability of any message. Recipients should not rely on this service for emergency notification and should always contact emergency services directly when appropriate.
